Did you use an iPhone previously, or did you have another Android phone (or with FairphoneOS on your Fairphone) where it was working better? Trying to sort out a baseline that we can then use to see what layer of “de-Googling” is giving the issue.
Also, just confirming if the Nucleus app installed fine, and if you granted all the permissions to it?
My hearing aids have worked perfectly with Iphone, fairphone 5 with fairphoneos, fairphone 5 with calyxos and google pixel 4a with calyx os and google pixel 4a with graphene os. Now i have problems only with fairphone 5 with iode os.
I gave all possible authorizations except camera and position and nothing, fairphone 5 with iode doesn’t work
Location permission may be needed? So does the App install and function fine it just can’t pair with the hearing aids? Also can you try to disable the iodé blocker for this app?
I gave all authorizations and i can’t make calls with my hearing aids. I also tried to disable iodè blocker. I tried also fossify phone and i have the same problem. The app nucleus smart install and function fine and it can pair with hearing aids and the streaming audio works with all apps except phone app.
I just found an option in the Dialer > Settings > Accessibility to “turn on hearing aid compatibility”. I am not sure what it does, but are you able to test?
Now i installed calyxos with android 16 and neither calyxos with android 16 works. calyxos with android 15 was perfectly working so maybe the problem is in the update in android 16?
@lindsayb37 or @Erzaui “System Settings > Accessibility > Hearing Devices”: Enable “Hearing aid compatibility” and also does “Pair new device” there for “AHSA or LE Audio” devices give you something with your device ready to pair?
This is that i can see, i don’t see enable hearing aid compatibility. In the calls i can’t hear the other people that talk me, behind request i sent logs of problem to calyx repo, before that i uninstall iode do you want logs?
It is interesting your title is only about ASHA devices. On my Pixel devices it shows “ASHA and LE Audio hearing aids”. So there is something additional with Pixel firmware blobs (?) that also enables “LE audio hearing aids”?? This is what also then gives the additional option below of “Hearing aid compatibility” I think, as the non-Pixel I am testing doesn’t have that either (OnePlus 9 Pro).
Sorry not sure. I am looking for a bit more feedback from Vincent on if this is possible to put on the feature request list or not.
I’m also not even sure what it does! Maybe that extra toggle being there won’t actually solve anything?
As the new builds of Calyx (? I think?) and iodéOS are both based on LineageOS, it is best if at that level this gets sorted out, or if Fairphone can give a bit more input.
Calyx is based on Android stock but backported some lineage os app so calyx and iode should be different operating systems but anyway either have the same bug, i tried in calyx to go to the same page in the settings and there was the same situation that i screenshotted before
For Calyx 6.x this was true (before their “hiatus” they were AOSP based) but I thought newer 7.x base is a LineageOS derivative somewhat similar then to how iodéOS is? (mkbestas as their lead dev is a core lineageos dev too)??
I reinstalled stock fairphone os and now that slider is present but he hasn’t effect. In other words i hear ring tones and the other person with slider on or off

I am not sure where to take it from here, maybe if you could also repeat the specific device make and model we can go a bit further in tracking down connection issues on LineageOS, /e/OS, CalyxOS, and/or iodéOS?
