Netflix not working on v4.1

Hey there,

I recently switched from a Samsung Galaxy to a Fairphone 4 and found out that Netflix doesn’t work anymore.
The app starts and shows the “Netflix” banner, but after that nothing is happening. The banner doesn’t disappear and after a few moments, I get “Device failure occured. Please restart your device and try again (501.-172)” (https://help.netflix.com/de/node/125644). But a restart doesn’t help.

I checked via logcat, but I’m not very experienced with reading logcat error messages. So maybe anyone is able to find the problem? The last line with “selinux - denied - untrusted_app” may be the reason, but I don’t know how to fix this.

I have the same problem with my FP4 and the Netflix App.

On my FP4 with iode 4.1 Netflix works without problems. I also updated the app to check whether its a Version problem. But Netflix still works for me.

Edit:
Netflix uses the Google SafetyNet on my phone. Is this activated on your device and do you pass the test?

Yes, SafteyNet is activated and passes the test.
Did you relock your Bootloader?

No my Bootloader is not locked. I have one of those Fairphones where relocking didn’t work.

Okay, I have this problem with Netflix since day one (iodé 3.x) and I always thought the problem is the open bootloader.
Everything else works only Netflix won’t. I tried Disney+, Prime, I always came to the login page. I have no account for those services but it’s further then I ever came with Netflix.
The iodé blocker app isn’t a culprit, everything is open for Netflix. Still the app won’t work.

My bootloader is locked and Netflix doesn’t work, so I don’t think the bootloader is the problem.
SafetyNet is activated and passes the tests, too.

I also use a FP4 with locked bootloader and it never worked for me. Iodé blocker is set to not block anything for the app and SafetyNet is activated. It seems to be somehow related to the FP4, at least the app is marked as compatible in the list (for older Iodé version) and i did not find much about it searching the forums some time ago.
