Looking for Tips to Optimize Battery Life on iode OS (Pixel 6)!

Hey everyone

I recently installed iode OS on my Pixel 6 and I’m really enjoying the clean, de-Googled experience. Everything runs smoothly, and I appreciate the focus on privacy. However, I’ve noticed that the battery life seems a bit shorter compared to the stock ROM.

I have already disabled some background apps and turned off location when not needed, but I am wondering if there are other tips or tweaks specific to iode OS that could help improve battery performance. Maybe something related to microG or system-level settings: ??

Also, is there a way to better control which apps are allowed to run in the background or use mobile data: ??

Would love to hear from users who have fine-tuned their setup for better efficiency. Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated !!

Thanks in advance for the help !!

With Regards,

Daniel Jose

Sorry I don’t have any additional advice on battery optimizations, I have tried various apps to help with this in the past, but in the end I am not sure they were effective.

But in this regard:

I use Shelter (Shelter | F-Droid - Free and Open Source Android App Repository) and set apps to “auto-freeze” and then add a “freeze all” shortcut to my homescreen and shortcuts to “unfreeze and launch” for each app that I have auto-freeze so I can launch them when needed. This is the best I know of for not allowing them to run incessantly in the background.

For limiting mobile data, it is easier. In the iodé app for the app you want to limit, you can simply tick on “Mobile Data” to prevent it.

PS: I hope you aren’t offended I removed the link to the training certification you linked to at the end of your post, it seems unrelated to this discussion.
