I got an iodé pixel 4a a couple of months ago and have been loving it. Unfortunately recently dropped and broke my phone… Unclear if it’s just the screen or something more but the screen is definitely cracked and malfunctioning.
Can anyone recommend any London based repairers?
And, is there an option to send the device back to iodé for fixing (if possible)? Wondering if anyone has experience of either option.
Sorry to hear of the problem! Unfortunately, iodé ourselves do not provide repair services. However, I just started a reference wiki yesterday to list trusted local install or repair services. So future posters here helping out @skylark can you also add your recommendations to this list?
Just as an update in case of interest to the community. I went to a repair shop (iSmash) and was told they can’t repair it unless they also restore it to the original android operating system.
Not sure why a hardware repair can’t be done without messing with the software, perhaps it is an OEM requirement or something?
I am going to try my luck with local independent repair shops and see if any of them will help. It seems like my phone is still working (e.g. the alarm is still going off in the mornings when it is charged!) and would like to try recover it.
I disagree: business near me called ‘iPeakRepair’ (I live in a region known as High Peak). The business is very good: they have done multiple repairs for me on different Android devices and on my Apple Laptops. Foolish to judge an organisation solely by its name (IMHO).
