Login page not accessible for free wlan

Hello,

now I’m new in this community. Since more than half a year I changed from /e/ to iodé on my Fairphone 3. Before I used LOS as well on my FP2.

Since the last update to version 6.9, I cannot connect anymore to free wlan requiring an online login.

That mean, the connection to the wlan is no problem, the phone connects quickly to the free wlan. But then usualy I have to accept online the terms&conditions of the wlan host, but that site I cannot find. On the settings and information page of the wlan there used to be 4 buttons formerly, now there are only 3: Delete, disconnect, share. The button “login” is missing.

Does anybody else have this kind of issue? Do you have any idea to solve this?

Best regards and thanks in advance!

If you go to settinges → network & internet, what does it say for “connectivity check”?

I haven’t seen it not show the login shortcut, but if it doesn’t show you can always just go to a “http only” site in your browser and you should be redirected to the network login page. I have used http://neverssl.com/ for years but I see it is very slow to load now. http://httpforever.com/ may be a better recommendation going forward. Give it a try!

But to the point of the login shortcut not showing that does seem like an issue, let’s see if anyone else can confirm the problem.

internet not available

Thanks for sharing this. I tried something similar, but i assume it was a https request. Next time I go out, I’ll try it and come back here. Latestly Friday.

Hey Rik,
this solved the problem. Thanks for helping.
Additional point for others: It is necessary to clear cache memory or reload the page, if the page was loaded before.
Best

Good to hear! It is strange that the Login option didn’t show for you, but it is sometimes not triggered due to differing ways that “captive portal logins” are triggered.
