Login link from an app opens in the browser instead of (another) app

Hi everyone,

This is a very specific problem, but I think there is a generic solution:

I have an app (from my private insurance company) that generates a login code for another app (a German public e-prescription app). When this link is generated, I shouldn’t actually see it. The first app should generate the login app, open the second app, and then I should be logged in automatically. The problem is that this login link always opens in the browser and never in the second app. And in the second app, there is no option to enter the link manually (via UI).

I am completely new to iodéOS. Can I change something in micoG and, if so, how and where? The apps I use are a bit unusual, but the problem I’ve described has surely occurred in other contexts? Essentially, the link is just being passed on to the wrong place.

Further information:

  • Fairphone 4
  • iodéOS 6.9 (Android 15, October 31, 2025)
  • All apps are up to date
  • All settings are default; I freshly installed the system today and haven’t changed any settings except for the keyboard and status bar
  • Everything else works fine, including a whole range of apps that are not on the list (I will add them once I have tested them in more detail)

Many thanks in advance for your ideas. Best regards

I think that it is related to so-called App Links. On the second app : long-press its icon, go to “App info”, then “Open By default”, and then select all (or just relevant ones) links in “Add link”.
