Hi folks, l’m the new guy in town…
Since one week I’m the proud owner of a Samsung Galaxy Tab 5e Wi-Fi, running iodè OS. Everything works fine so far, the device is fast and responds snappy.
But there’s one problem I have: I can’t use the ebay app. Everytime I try to log-in into my account I get an error message saying “a problem occured” with no further explanation. I looked up the internet and it seems to be a widely known issue. The ebay support was contacted several times by other users but the only advice from their side was/is to reinstall the app. Did not/does not help.
So, I wonder, could this have something to do with the use of Custom ROMs(users, who got in contact wirh ebay have/had the problem with Google Android & iOS)? Does/did anyone else have the same problem? Does anyone have a hint/any advice for me? By the way, my native language is german, so if any german speaking member likes to answer “auf Deutsch”, feel free…
Thanks in advance!
Michael
As far as I know and if I remember correctly it is a safetynet problem.
Not only on iode
Only workaround is to use the Webinterface instead of the app
eBay App vers. 6.175.0.2 Source: Google Play
Seconded. This has been a problem for a while with all LineageOS-based custom ROMs. Just uninstall the app and use the web interface in your browser
Well, ok…
So, then it’s no more ebay on the tablet. Thanks a lot, everybody!

Don’t you have a web browser on your tablet? Or is there a reason why Ebay via the browser doesn’t work for you?
Hey @petefoth,
of course I have a web browser on my tablet, I’m using the “onboard” browser (iodé browser). But I find it more comfortable to use the app to access ebay. That’s the only reason I don’t want to use the detour via ebay’s web interface…

Hey.
Frag mich nicht wie ich darauf gekommen bin, meine Lösung war eBay als Apk Datei runterzuladen. Dann mit der APP ‘ApkMirror Installer’ installieren.
3,2,1…
Most shopping ads are full of spyware anyway. The Amazon one my partner has on her tablet is absolutely loaded with the stuff. I use the browser (Cromite), instead for all such purposes as it keeps it sandboxed so cannot interfere with any other background apps that may be running at the same time.
