Kobo reading/listening app

I’ve experienced an issue while listening to audiobooks on Kobo. After a while the audio just stops. This has occurred three times already. Reactivation can only be done through app controls instead of earbud controls. This is really awkard for me because I commute on my bike and have my phone stowed away. This behaviour did not occur on e/os. By the way audiobooks are downloaded prior to playback so this is no streaming issue.

So is the bluetooth connection still fine or do you need to disconnect / reconnect them?

Does it happen with other apps too?

I have noticed occasionally if getting a “notification” that sound gets interrupted in the audio playing app and possibly “stuck”. So “yet another test” would be to disable notifications (can do just that instead of full “do not disturb” via the icon at the bottom of the Volume slider overlay). Probably that would be good for commuting anyway. So if you could try that and see if the problems remain or not it would be another data point.

Notifications are off by default via the slider on my Fairphone 6.

Bluetooth connection seems ok. After a ‘click’ sound playback halts. I have to re-enable playback manually and once saw that the audio playback screen was a bit scrambled. The progress indicator was gone. The play button still responded and after touching ‘play’ I needed to go forward 5 minutes before arriving at the point where the audio halted. Most of the time though I don’t stop and continue until home.

You mentioned Bluetooth and I have to admit that the connection of my Garmin Venu watch with the Garmin Connect app is lost after closing said app. This is also something I’m not accustomed to.

It could be there is a broader bluetooth issue at play here.

But it is a bit complicated as iodéOS 7 is Android 16 based, whereas on /e/OS they are only at an Android 15 base. So that could be a possible issue.

But about the Garmin problem it also could be some tracker or other blocking from the iodé app, you could disable it for Garmin Connect as a test. For more on that one I suggest you open a new thread. It may not be a Fairphone specific issue (or iodé specific issue)?
