On this site iodéOS installation - iodé there is information that there is no 5G on Pixel 5. But it has 5G which works fine on LineagOS.
Did anyone the test and can say something about this?

Hi, I am interested in getting a Pixel 5 and using it with iodé.
I selected it because it supports 5G according to its specs and not being extremely large like other phones. Without 5G, reception is very bad in my area. (had a non-5G phone from work)
According to gsmarena, there are two models and both support 5G, yet a slightly different selection of bands.
@chrisrg Do your SIM support 5Gand phone plan include 5G?
Does your Pixel 5 support 5G today because of an update maybe?
Does anyone else have a Pixel 5 and can confirm or deny 5G compatibility?
Hi @d123 , I sold the pixel 5 not long after that post and it wasn’t my daily device anyway.
Pixel 8 has been my main device since November 2023, not long after it was released. I can recommend it as a not so large device (smallest of the pixels currently supported with google updates).
As you may know, there’s not much choice for smaller phones with unlockable bootloaders and readily available alternative OS’s. I’ve always got an eye on the market for a smaller, new non-google phone but Pixel 8 is probably the smallest.
it is no longer recommended to buy a Pixel 5.
i would go to at least a 6a
Why is it no longer recommended? And where can these recommendations be found?
Yes, I’ve been going in circles. I started looking at the Pixel 2 or 3, but there’s always something… not supported anymore, battery problems, no 5G, no custom ROM available… Every one is just a little bit bigger, but in the end the difference is huge. A few days ago, I tried someone’s Pixel 6. It fit in my (large) work trousers pocket, but when I sat down the corner really dug into my body. It is simply unusable. Pixel 8 is not that much smaller unfortunately. I don’t know what to do.
So everything before Pixel 6 is now ‘end of life’. But looking at the other ‘end of life’ PIxel devices, they are likely to continue getting LineageOS updates for a good time to come. For example Pixel 3 became ‘end of life’ nearly 3 years ago, but LOS are making 22.1 builds for it.
If Pixel 5 meets @d123’s needs, then I would definitely recommend it.
I am using it since a couple of days. And also have no 5G.
I think, that 5G support also depends on your network operator. In my country, at the begining of Pixel 5 life cycle the phone has not been supported by our operators 5G networks. After aprox one year, suddenly 5G on Pixel 5 started to function - the operators switched its support on after agreement with Google. So it depends from which exact Pixel device your network operator made agreement with Google.
Yes agreed, @Lazy you may need to check with your carrier to confirm it isn’t being blocked.
You and @gc35sdd are right. My carrier doesn’t support 5G on the Pixel 5.
Well, doesn’t matter. I mostly use the phone for messaging. No real need for 5G.
My SIM provider also does not support 5G on the Pixel 5 (redfin), although the redfin displays 5G (recommended).
Likewise, the latest version of Google Android 14.0.0 (UP1A.231105.001.B2, Feb 2024) supports no 5G, no VoLTE and no Wi-Fi calling - although Pixel 5 redfin displays 5G (recommended).
Not every CustomROM for the Pixel 5 supports VoLTE and Relocking Bootloader – but iodéOS 7.2 does this!
