Iode auto install on xperia xz2 from linux mint

I live in france. It was a true statement of what life is like here. There is very little in the form of client service (except local shops ). Clients are tolerated rather than embraced and the general attitude is rather laissez faire as the english would say. I tell it like it is. If you have a problem with that then ban me and continue living your life behind the veil of politicak correctness. In the mean time I need to explore installing android 10 on my phone because I believe that I have to do that in order to move to Lineage. I wold normally say au revoir but that means to re-see and I am exiting the forum so not really appropriate so bonne chance with promoting Iode will have to do.

It’s much the same here in England with the large corporates taking most all the high street trade except for the nichiest (is there such a word?) of goods/services. They all get paid at the end of the week whether you get good service or not. It doesn’t have to be this way but it annoys me too when it is this way. I sold an iode XA2 about a month ago and found this in my ebay messenger this morning…

Hi Tim,
Thank you so much for all your help. I got the Sony phone and everything is in perfect working order exactly as you described. I’ll make sure to give you perfect feedback and 5 stars on everything.
This is my first non-Apple smartphone in ages. I studied computer science and I wrote software in Java for Blackberry in a programming job about 10 years ago. While I have some technical experience/can think computationally, I don’t have much real world experience using open source/linux phones or Android OS.
I will take your advice and not update it. I follow similar practices of not updating to the latest version. They tend to use the early adopters as the testing pool in iterative software development.
I appreciate the need to get some proper OpSec in 2025. Best opsec practices are like gold, it’s no good when we need them, we need them before we need them. I really should have moved sooner. I’m migrating from an iPhone 15 to this Sony. The XA2 is a really capable phone at the price point. I never really use most of the features on my iPhone anyway.
I’m grateful you listed this. It’s a lot easier to start at the base point you’ve created rather than having to wait until I’ve studied everything carefully (a little bit of information is very dangerous) to build my own starting point from the ground up rather than starting with this very clean and efficient build you have made.
I noticed in the description you mentioned a memory card for sale but I assume someone has already bought it. The last micro SD cards I bought were for my Flipper zero and Nintendo Switch. I’m no expert on memory cards. This phone only works with cards up to 256GB right?
I’ll probably end up coming back to you to buy another phone for my mother at some point. My mother is also a computer programmer using an iPhone but it’s hard to convince her to upgrade/switch her hardware. Once she sees me using one for a while I might be able to convince her.

Regards…
Matt

Don’t want to sound ungrateful (cos I’m not), but I would rather new users were posting this stuff on here rather than sending it to me. My point is that there is a ready made community of potential iode users out there, we just need to start welcoming them in.

Hello,

read all the comments with autoinstall!!
would like to use the program with linux (already bricked a pixel3a manually) ,
made an official download, extracted, made the IodeOS-installer executable.
Do not find the way to run this file!? ./works for .SH .bin .run
but this installer file has no ending
Is there something missing in the downloade folder?
What is my fault?

I can help you with the p3a issue if you want to reply on the Unofficial builds for Google Pixel devices thread. But as the p3a builds are unofficial they are not supported by the installer so I am a bit confused. Anyway followup on the pixel build thread we can get you sorted there.

Hi,
thanks for you interest, the pixel I made manuel, It was for testing the procedure, before I had ubuntu on that device.
the install procedure (manuell) stopped after 1 hour I cut the usb cable, now the device isn’t possible to start srcreen black
Have you an idea on that?
Thanks

solved the problem with the installer, the newest version of debian (12) is required because GLIBC_2.34 an not an older version
