Iode App Not Seeing Installed Apps After Power Glitch

Hi, all -

My phone (Google Pixel 5 running iodeOS 7.0) recently drained down to 0% battery. It thought some liquid or debris was in the charging port, though I couldn’t see anything, so I had quite a time getting it charged up and resuscitated. When I did, a few odd things were going on…

I had uninstalled some preinstalled apps - I noticed that all preinstalled apps were back. This wasn’t a big issue because I just uninstalled them again.

The larger issue for me is that the iode blocker does not see any of my many installed apps. Ads show up where they never did before with blocking enabled. I tried clearing the iode app’s cache and storage, but to no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions to restore my phone to sanity?

Thanks!!

Sorry to not get back to you earlier. This is a bit of a strange case, I don’t know if I have a good suggestion for you apart from possibly waiting a few days for the next upgrade which may resolve things, but usually if there is a problem then clearing storage as you already did will clear it up.

To clarify regarding “preinstalled apps” returning, had you “uninstalled” them using the “Preinstalled Apps” section or just manually removed / disabled them?

Hi, Rik -

I’ll try the next upgrade and cross my fingers!

I had uninstalled them using the Preinstalled Apps section in Settings.

Thanks!

Anyone have any new ideas on this one? It’s been five months, and I’m still in the same situation. If I need to, I can reinstall iodeOS, but I’d rather not… Is it possible to make the iode app re-scan the phone for apps? Or can I uninstall and reinstall the iode app to force this?

Thanks!

I have been through at least one full update of iodeOS, maybe two. Right now, I’m at 7.4.

Found the solution. I had to press “Data Reset” under Settings within the iode app. I hadn’t done this before because I misunderstood which data was going to be reset… Once I had done that, the iode app started populating with all my other apps and normal functionality was restored.
