Linux Pop!_os 22.04, Oneplus 11 5G (Salami). The blurb made it sound so easy to just use the auto installer rather than risk and mess around with the manual installer. As it turns out, the auto installer bricked this Salami Oneplus with 6.0 that resulted in an Orange State and a boot loop. I eventually read here and in xda forums that as recently as December 2024, iode 5.8 was recommended for this device.
So why did the installer attempt 6.0 then?

This was messy. I used terminal and manually installed adb and fastboot and managed to flash the oneplus “salami” version of iode 5.8 on there, and then it booted properly.
I didn’t try to mess with deleting the text for the device error message, as that type of advice seemed really off-base to my thinking.
If anyone really thought that 6.0 was a good idea for the Oneplus 11 5g (salami) then well my experience would say otherwise. Hope this helps, or encourages some changes in the way the installer runs. Thanks.
