How can I return from beta to ordinary?

I am a beta tester. However, today’s is too grave (no sound). I need to return to non-beta.
How could I do this?

Two possibilities

  1. Deinstall the beta updater, wait for the next stable (v6) release. install it
  2. start from scratch with v5 fastboot. clean install. loose all yor data.

because of androids downgrade protection, there’s no other way

Option 1, Deinstall the beta updater, wait for the next stable (v6) release. install it:
What can I do in the mean time (between deinstall updater and release of stable v6)… Is my phone during those days not working at all?

Option 2, “start from scratch with v5 fastboot. clean install. loose all yor data.
because of androids downgrade protection, there’s no other way”

“no other way”: is this because v6 is Android 15 whereas v5 is Android 14?

It’s just the updater you deinstall. has no impact to operational use

yes, no other way

Do you know when a stable v6 alpha will be released?

nope

So just to be crystal clear for the Iode newbies if I successfully installed Iode 6.0 Beta but want to switch to stable channel as soon as Iode 6 is properly released, is this possible OTA (or at least in recovery with a zip)? or are they different build keys/etc and a full wipe/re-install would be required?

Go to app settings of the updater and remove updates
You have stable updater back
Wait for stable release
Install it normally via ota update

For even more clarity … do you mean?:
Settings → Apps → Updater → (App info) 3-dots menu → Uninstall updates
and
Settings → Apps → Updater → (App info) Force stop

So far, I did not dare to do this. Please confirm.

THX!

Correct
You can skip the force stop

hello, I took this step but now I have an error message telling me that my internet connection is not good and I have the impression that it is not doing a search. is this normal?

Mine does the same. I expect that this would be because theres no 6.0 official releases at all yet and maybe the updater is getting a 404 or something.

you have to wait until the stable release
If there is none, nothing can be downloaded
One of the next betas will be tagged as stable and can be ota updated via updater

And now if y want to return to beta how ?
Thanks

Vice versa
Install beta updater

“So just to be crystal clear for the Iode newbies” if I try to install IODE on an old mobile but without success, how can I return to the original Android version of the manufacturer ? Does each manufacturer provide a reinstall procedure ?

I read sometime about “to brick”. In that case nothing more is possible ?

merci

Correct, some are nearly the same, some are different
