I am aware of the limitations of backing up a non-rooted iodéOS.
I would like to backup the APK files of installed user apps and thought there might be a simple way to achieve that.
Does anybody know how to do that?

As mentioned here 1000 times before…
With rooted device
With unofficial (userdebug) build
But not with official builds
I found several apps that allow to save the APKs of installed apps to memory.
You can install the apps with F-Droid from the repo https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/repo or with Neo Store or Droid-ify.
If anybody knows of an app that allows to save the APKs of newly installed apps automatically, please share it here.
The three apps mentioned in the previous post offer only to save apps manually, which is fine but automatically would be more convenient and that way I cant’t forget it.
That just means that the APKs are being kept in the app cache.
They are kept in /data/data/com.aurora.store/cache/Downloads/
.
Without root it’s not possible to extract them from there.
And when you clear Aurora Store’s app cache, then they are gone.
Hi there, Did you ever think any more about this, I did try your rom and overall preferred it to alternatives (because it has fewer “improvements” over base LOS) but the lack of being able to adb root is really a showstopper for me. I don’t want to have a rooted phone so adb was a great option, can you comment on where your “thinking about it” has got to?
Thanks
