I am running iodé on a moto G52, but after upgrading to iodé7 hotspot is not working anymore.
So the slider can’t be enabled or other?
Yes, I found out wpa3 and wpa3/2 is not working, wpa2 only is working.
Did wpa3 work before? I am not certain the underlying system for that device supports wpa3? For example I can enable wpa3 on a Pixel 7 Pro (iodéOS 7.0) but not on a Pixel 3a XL (iodéOS 6.9 - unofficial build). The 3a XL gives the “Error” message when attempting to set it to wpa3 and in fact now I can’t sort out how to revert it to wpa2 only.
I believe the difference is the older kernel and linux base (wpa_supplicant, for example) of the 3a XL, as it is on kernel 4.19, whereas the 7 Pro in on kernel 6.1
Yes, it always worked before.
Hi,
today I discovered that on my G52 hotspot can’t be enabled any more(after upgrading to IodeOS 7.1)
As of the settings I have wpa2 only.
When clicking on the slider it just hops back to off.
Is there something I can try, like delete the hotspot and recreate it?
Have a second G52 - same thing.
Thanks
Oh, this is interesting …
So I can disable security, switch from wpa2 to none.
After that hotspot can be turned on.
I the turn it off again, switch security from none to wpa2 and …. Hotspot can be switched on.
On my other G52 I switch security to none, but when I try to start hotspot security is set to wpa2 and hotspot turns immediately off.
Also, on this second device I cannot switch off the setting “auto turn off hotspot when no device connected”. Cannot be deactivated.
This setting can be en/disabled on my first G52.
Possibly a “Reset Bluetooth and Wi-Fi” would help (you would need to re-add saved wifi and bluetooth devices)
Hello rik,
wow, did not know such options existed. Will try asap.
Thank you
On my G52 with wpa2 it always works
