Galaxy S10e – Incoming VoLTE calls cannot be answered on iodéOS 7.8 (SFR France)

Hello,
I have a problem with VoLTE incoming calls on my Samsung Galaxy S10e (SM-G970F/DS) running iodéOS 7.8 with an SFR France SIM.
Problem
Incoming calls over 3G work normally.
Outgoing VoLTE calls work normally.
Incoming VoLTE calls reach the phone correctly: the phone rings and displays “Answer / Decline”.
However, pressing “Answer” does nothing. The call is not connected.
If I force the phone to 3G, incoming calls work normally.
Wi-Fi Calling is not available.
So the problem appears to be specifically related to accepting an incoming VoLTE/IMS call.
IMS status
I checked the IMS status using the Android testing menu. IMS registration appears to be OK, except for Wi-Fi Calling.
The active IMS service is:
Package: me.phh.ims
Service: me.phh.ims/.PhhImsService
PhhIms version: 16
Version code: 36
APK: /system/priv-app/PhhIms/PhhIms.apk
The S10e also has the corresponding PhhImsOverlay.apk and the LineageOS beyond0lte IMS entitlement overlay.
APN configuration
Initially, I only had the SFR Internet APN (sl2sfr) and no IMS APN.
I restored the APNs, and the SFR IMS APN is now present:
APN: ims
Type: ims
The normal SFR Internet APN is:
APN: sl2sfr
After restoring the IMS APN, the problem remains unchanged.
Additional information
ADB reports:
versionCode=36 minSdk=36 targetSdk=36
versionName=16
The installed PhhIms APK SHA-256 is:
57c1e0dcd9b3d1dbaf0bf45a0a0b815c8b71e7d1e5d423d386e186e220a9e3b5
Relevant system properties:
persist.dbg.volte_avail_ovr=1
ril.volte.911call=[0,0]
ro.boot.carrierid=PHN
ro.carrier=unknown
The phone is therefore able to establish VoLTE calls in the outgoing direction, and an incoming VoLTE call is correctly presented by the UI, but accepting the call has no effect.
Could this be a known issue with PhhIms / incoming SIP call handling on the S10e, possibly related to the incoming INVITE → accept() → 200 OK / ACK sequence?
Is there a newer PhhIms/iodéOS fix or build that I should use?

Since you report resetting your APNs, can you please reconfirm with *#*#INFO#*#* (4636) on IMS tab that IMS is active and VoLTE is available (after this reset… I wasn’t clear if your check was before that)?

Hello ! Yes, I have checked again after resetting the APNs.

In *#*#4636#*#* → IMS Service Status, everything is active:

  • IMS Registration: Registered
  • VoLTE: Available/Active
  • IMS is active

The SFR IMS APN (ims) is also present now.

However, the problem remains exactly the same: outgoing VoLTE calls work, incoming VoLTE calls make the phone ring and show “Answer / Decline”, but pressing Answer does nothing. If I force 3G, incoming calls work normally. So the IMS/VoLTE status remains OK after the APN reset, but incoming VoLTE calls still cannot be answered.

This seems to be related to the version of Krazey PhhIms currently integrated into iodéOS. My Galaxy S10e (beyond0lte) is running iodéOS 7.9 beta with PhhIms version 16 (versionCode 36).

The current version of Krazey PhhIms appears to contain fixes related to incoming VoLTE calls and SMS over IMS. In my case, incoming VoLTE calls ring normally, but pressing the Answer button does nothing. I have also noticed that receiving an SMS can cause the 4G data connection to drop.

Could you please consider integrating a newer version of Krazey PhhIms into iodéOS 7.9?

It seems that these fixes could potentially resolve both issues on the Galaxy S10e with SFR.

Thank you !

I passed this to our lead developer. It is a bit surprising that others haven’t had issues, but let’s see what he finds.

Thank you very much !
