FP6 switches off randomly

  • Device: Fairphone 6
  • iodéOS Version: 7.8 (Aug. 26th 2026)
  • Affected App(s): Phone

Short Description:

Hello,

problem as described in the subject field, a search in issues did not turn up anything.

New Issue, Regression, or Feature Request?

I don’t know when it started but it’s been going on for months.

Additional Information:

Frequency: random between every couple of weeks and once per week. So not that often but I worry that nobody is able to get me on the phone in an emergency.

This seems to happen mainly when I place the phone in my smallish edc leather bag. I always place it making sure there is nothing that could potentially apply pressure on the power button. Is there a combination for powering off the device that involves the volume buttons that I am not aware off? Could physical impacts/jolts be the cause? I tried to reproduce the issue but failed.

Does anybody else experience random power downs?

Thank you so much,

J

So when you take it out of your bag it is powered off? Are there any cases of it rebooting while in active use?

It has happened to me once or twice. When it happened the last time, I looked up the issue and found the below thread:

Thank you. I opened a suppport ticket. Today it switched off two times, once in my bag, once lying on my desk. Battery both times 70+%.

There also appears to be issues related to some FP6’s not charging anymore. When you read the forum responses on this topic it seems the 30W Anker charger might be the trigger. I stopped using mine and switched to 18W pixel chargers. I was also having an issue lately where as my charge was not lasting as long. So I disabled the 80% charge limit and since then that issue has improved…
