FP5: Iode Firewall gets stuck regularly and needs to be resumed

Hi there,

I am running iode 6.8-20250929-FP5 with iode app version 3.1.3.

Several time a day the firewall gets stuck, meaning all internet traffic is blocked. I then have to open the iode app and then it works again. This is quite tedious.

I already switched off “manage app if unused” in the app settings, but that did not seem to help.

Any ideas? Or is this a bug in the software?

I already tried clearing app cache & storage several times too

Search is your friend :slightly_smiling_face: Have you tried these threads - you may have the same issue I and several others had once we updated to 6.8 (there is a patch that can be manually applied until 6.9 is released if you do):

Thanks I have already searched before and read that one thread about the blocked traffic..It’s recommendations do not work for me.

My iode app is already 3.1.3.

Clearint app setting/storage did not help.

Currently FP5 build is 6.8-20250929, so can’t verifiy the 6.9 build suggestion. I did not get where a patch was mentiomed, will read it again

Edit: Okay, I am trying the patched iode apk and will report back if not working. Although from my reading I get hat 3.1.3 should already have the fix.

I can say from my side that using iodeOS 6.9-20251031-huskywith iode App 3.1.4 it never happened again

That sounds promising!

As noted, v6.9 includes iodé app version 3.1.4 and it hopefully will address such problems. v6.9 will be coming this week if you can wait that long.

Unfortunately, the problem is still there with iode 6.9 and iode 3.1.4. I think it got less stuck, but I have no metrics to prove it.

For the 3 days sincr I updated, I may had to resume (switch to) the iode app about 2-3 a day to let the internet traffic flow again

Can you clarify if you have the persistent notification showing all the time, or if you disabled that? (part of the bug fix was related to the persistent notification). Also, did you reset app storage once more after this update? Maybe that will help.

I cleared the iode app storage again and turned on the persistent notification (had turned it off before). Will report back when I know more.

Thanks. Certainly you should be able to disable the notification, so will look for your feedback.
