I’ve been using the phone wirh Fossify Messages for several months now without issues. I’ve had several IodeOS upgrades and several Fossify updates all without issue.
Over the last week, I’ve started having problems with symptoms that I can’t send 2 sentence messages or photo attachments to individuals.
I broke one text into 2 separate sentences and sent and that went okay.
I know the latest IodeOS was recently installed.
Can anyone advise on how i might fix this or what has changed?
Have you checked the use MMS for long SMS setting and potentially tried changing that?
I have it disabled FWIW - so long SMS should just go as multiple SMS (I just try and always compose to the 160 character limit and manually do multiple messages).
If you have it on and there is an issue with your MMS sending for some reason it could be the reason.
I just ran a search on T-MobileMMS attachment limits and they are cited as being anything between 1mb and 4mb. Tried my photo test again ( send, cancel send on freeze) and once again it delivered the photo in about an hour. Both phones on same carrier.
The problem is with the carrier. Apparently they’ve been doing network repairs in the area. Turning off wifi and then sending on regular network seemed to clear the issue and allow me to then return to wifi again.
Thanks for all support received
I just flashed a new Pixel 9a with iodeOS 7. Apparently I’ve experienced the same issue. I just turned off wifi and tested outgoing texts and it worked.
I’m at home and use wifi when here. I’ve never had this problem with the Verizon network on my Samsung. I moved to PureTalk: way cheaper.
So what gives? It is not productive/seamless to have to turn wifi on and off to send texts.
Do some searching on this forum - pretty sure this has been covered before here and also see the posts above as a couple of the things there may be related to your issue. It’s likely just some settings aren’t right for your APN or SIM (e.g. calling over wi-fi, etc), or your messaging app (for MMS, etc), or you had RCS enabled on your number on your Samsung you haven’t disabled (this is the stock Android messaging version of iMessage).
