If you feel that setting up your own server is stretching your capabilities just use the FMD server set up that comes with the app. Not as privacy focused or impressive as woaloo’s rig I accept, but just as effective and you don’t have to maintain it.
If I use the the FMD server, would my location be private?
Thank you
It is much better than Google:
For short, the server collects the locationdata, batterylevel of the phone. This data is encrypted on the phone and decrypted on the webpage via the password. On the server the data is available only encrypted so the owner of the server can’t do something with this. The identifier for the phone is a random text generated from the server.
Your data only stays on the server. Nothing gets sold, nothing is used for statistic or anything else.
Basic stuff like ip adress is transmitted for the connection, but not used for anything else.
Thank you! And do you know how FMD support its operation if it is free to use?
Yes, it’s free. You can find all informations on the server here:
