INTRODUCTION (skip this part)
Thank you for the nice iodéOS!
I’m coming from Sailfish OS (which I intend still go back to, but I would like to see iodéOS for other family members that cannot rely on Sailfish OS because of the need to use some banking apps).
I’ve been playing with iodéOS on Fairphone 6 now for few weeks and I quite like it. I tried /e/OS but the IOS copycat thing is not really a thing for me, otherwise great OS that too.
THE REAL QUESTION (skip to here)
After about a week or two with the iodé on FP6 I encountered a little bit nuisance bug.
Not a show stopper but a bit irritating at times. The phone keeps making extremely short vibrations when the screen is off. When the screen is on there is no vibrations. The vibrations start immediately when screen goes off - does not matter if I turn off - or the time limit turns screen off.
Has anybody else this same bug going on? Or maybe it’s only my device?
How could I investigate into this? (I’m comfortable driving command on CLI and doing some logs and so on, it’s just I need help how to do it, I’m not that technical unfortunately)
REPRODUCING
I’m not sure if it’s possible at all to reproduce this, but I try to write down all I remember of my use case:
- Install iodé with Ubuntu on FP6 that had /e/OS on it. (I did not revert to stock Android in between)
- Some settings made, but only via phone settings app (no patches from third parties)
- Installed some 15 apps via Aurora and F-droid, communication, banking, car apps etc.
- One day started experiencing the phone display going on by itself in the pocket and the vibration happening sometimes without a seeming cause (don’t remember making settings by that time).
- Disabled double-tap-to-wake - thinking it could have been the cause. I also disabled finger print reader. But when I did these - then phone display started to wake on single tap or just slightly touching the screen. Reboot helped for the display, it stays now off until power button pressed.
- Please bear with me, 4 and 5 above are a bit fuzzy and can’t rely 100% to my memory on those ones.
- The vibration problem is bugging me mostly all the time

This happens also when all the apps are shut off. Although background processes are of course there. Of communications app I’m using only Signal, and I did kill its background process, but that didn’t help - still vibrating.
