Fairphone 6 button switch with Iode

Hello Iodé community

I am considering buying the Fairphone 6 with iodé, and I wonder how the yellow button “switch” (to “Fairphone moments”) is working under iodé? Does it still have the same role of moving to a minimalist mode?

Thank you

The slider is configurable, you can select the following options for the up and down position:

The Fairphone Moments function only exists on the OS that Fairphone provides.

thank you very much for your answer Timmeh! I liked the idea (having tested Minimalistphone) but I understand.

It is, at least, available on /e/ and iodé.

It has some issues, if in the top position it sometimes gets “retriggered” for some people, the switch seems to be flaky in the top position. The original FPOS deals with this fact via software, LOS does not. Unfortunately this is reported in the LOS for FP6 Github-project but the dev never addressed or fixed it. :frowning:

Why is this an issue? So sometimes if you move the phone or gently touch the switch (without acutally switching) the current position gets (re)triggered. Depending on the configuration, this will cause vibration, turn on the display and/or show a pop-up. Even worse, for some reason it turns off any active mode, which is especially annoying if use dnd at night and suddenly have your phone ringing when you try to sleep. Took me some sleepless nights till I found the culprit. :face_with_steam_from_nose:

My workaround is to use the bottom position as the default postition, so this can only happen in the rare cases when the switch is in the top position. :man_shrugging:
