eGovernment apps (Austria) not working on S10

Hi there,
unfortunately two Austrian eGov applications available through Aurora cannot be used on iodeOS (Samsung S10, beyond1lte).

I fired up Android Studio to see what’s going on and the error log showed this message:

E/at.atrust.mobsig.library.util.KeystoreUtil: ERROR - generateKeyPair(EC): error
java.security.ProviderException: Failed to generate key pair.

Googling this error does not bring up much, mostly app developers asking why their project runs into this error.
Is it possible some cryptographics are not implemented fully in Lineage and/or iode? According to reports, the device itself is able to handle everything correctly on stock (I did not double check myself).

Should be kinda easy to reproduce, just download this app. No account or advanced German skills necessary.
Once fired up, click on “QR code” and on the next screen the red button on the bottom (“Verknüpfung starten”). You will get an error message without any details in UI, but the log should show the message I mentioned.

I think there are multiple questions implied:

  1. Is this reproducible for other Samsung S10 devices or is something wrong with my device on hardware level?
    If reproducible:
  2. Is this device-specific or a broader issue (which I consider unlikely because other users report this working on Lineage)?`
  3. Is this a bug in Lineage or specific to iode?
  4. (Not in my personal interest, but could be interesting for others) Any other apps which involve cryptographic operations reported not working?

Digitales Amt works for me, the A-Trust app I do not use any more (Fairphone3, latest iodéOS).
