HI,
I installed the GSI Iodé 5.7 and 5.8 on a Blackview Shark8.
Two unsurpassed problems presented themselves:
-
In the ‘status bar’, the hour and notification icons are not placed on the left but move to the center;In addition, on the right, the percentage of the battery is not visible;
-
When the mobile phone goes to Wake, the screen does not turn off and the screen is subjected to continuous flash that prevent it from turning off.
My configuration is that of a mobile phone with root.
I just wanted to report these problems. The second prevents the correct use of the mobile phone.
Thanks for your work that I follow from version 1.4 and that, momentarily, I had to abandon on this mobile phone.
Emilio
On the Unihertz Jelly Max, flashing the latest iodé GSI results in a bootloop, because FaceServiceRegistry
is colliding with a different biometric with the same ID/class.
My iodéOS GSI installation on a CMF Phone 1 by Nothing Dimension 7300 (5G) was successful.
Are there any limits to how far you can retro fit with the GSI? I bought a bunch of Sony’s recently and managed to get a new and still boxed X Performance thrown in. This was a flagship phone back in 2016, most likely due to the snapdragon 820 inside. 3-gb - 64gb which was very respectable back in the day for a phone running Oreo. (No official Pie update). Will the GSI support an Android 8 device?
GSI requires at least Android 8 to run
Know if Your Android 8.0 /8.1 Device Supports Project Treble:
adb shell
getprop ro.treble.enabled
The shell will return a boolean value. If it returns true
, then your device supports Project Treble.
… OR …
-
Treble Info version 5.1.1 F-Droid
-
TrebleInfo-free version 5.2.3 gitlab
AFAIA project treble is supported as I came across this unofficial lineage build on XDA…

which got me to thinking about the possibility of trying the iode GSI on the basis of if for any reason I can’t make it happen, my time unlocking the bootloader wouldn’t have been completely wasted. Thanks for the heads up guys… appreciated!
iodéOS5.10 I repeatedly noticed two malfunctions yesterday:
- bluetooth won’t pair with some devices (headphones and hands-free car kit).
2.WiFi hotspot cannot be activated, deactivates the switch immediately by itself.
Malfunctions with a custom Generic System Image (GSI) are nothing unusual, as they are based on the device used and in particular its stock Android version. Since you have not provided any information about this, verification is impossible.
I’ve several devices with MediaTek and Qualcomm SoCs running flawlessly, including functioning Bluetooth, 3.5mm jack, USB-C headphone with DAC, GPS, all sensors and cameras, 5G / LG LTE, WLAN Wi-Fi, wired LAN via JR45 USB-C adapter.
iodéOS 5.x GSI with built-in microG is for me the best and most compatible A/B GSI with OTA update option since the first release last year.
I beg your pardon. Here is the hopefully relevant information about the device:
Unihertz Titan with A10 (latest FW),
Mediatek MT6771V/C,
arm64-v8a,
Kernel 4.14.141+,
Bluetooth 4x (BLE, Peripheral Mode, Multiple adversitement, Offloaded filtering, Ofloaded scan batching, LE advertising data lengh =30),
WiFi 5 (802.11ac)
PS: I have known the “disadvantages” of GSI builds for some time and can confirm that iodéOS is one of the best builds I have tested, alongside EvolutionX (Slim, maintainer Mitja) and Gargoyle (maintainer Rumplestilzken).
Try to (without warranty) …
Settings > Phh Treble Settings
Misc features >>
Audio > Use alternate way to detect headsets
Bluetooth > Bluetooth worksarounds > Mediatek
Settings > Network and Internet
Hotspot and tethering (Hotspot on) > Wi-Fi hotspot (ON)
Reboot system now
Yes, I know all these settings and have activated them. WiFi Hotspot deactivates itself immediately after activation. Attention: If I deactivate mobile data, the hotspot remains activated. If I then activate mobile data, Hotspot immediately deactivates itself again. A mystery.
With which GSI versions did these handicaps not occur?
In Gargoyle (Android13 based on Td-GSI20 by AndyYan) was the last working hotspot and Bluetooth handsfree pairing.
Is your firmware stock Android 10 rooted?
By the way: I have often experienced devices with stock Android 10 not running smoothly with GSI A14.
Yes, stock ROM A10 was rooted years ago, with Magisk.
The GSI A14 only have problems in the case I described. Since the builds were signed by AndyYan in the meantime, the use of BgN builds was very good. The same can be said of iodeOS and EvolutionX. iodeOS is perfect for the Titan. I seriously recommend it.
One problem I suspect: the Ponces builds didn’t have internet access at the beginning. Maintainer Rumplestilzken patched the boot image (for the Unihertz Pocket) and from then on internet access worked. I asked him to patch a test boot image for the Titan. Maybe that contains the solution…
None of my iodéOS GSI devices are rooted: Pure stock Android (no third-party vendor.img either) + iodéOS GSI.
BgN builds, i.e. with any version of GApps, are taboo for me.
