I use Duolingo and sometimes it offers “Tap to speak” to check your pronunciation.
Although I’ve granted the app permission to use the microphone “while the app runs”, after tapping “Tap to speak” it always fails immediately.
Anyone else successfully use this? Is there some setting or permission I’m missing?

@uninterpolated I am wondering as is MissPiggy if something in the iodé blocker is at play here. Can you disable the blocker for DuoLingo and test again? If it is successful, then you can turn on the blocker again and watch the “Stream” in the blocker, one-by-one allowing the blocked items until it works.
Actually it turned out that all I had to do was grant microphone permission to the app and it works now.
