Do we need a VPN with iodéOS?

Hi,

I think the concept of iodéOS is to have a man in the middle that blocks trackers. Does it imply anything regarding VPN? I wrote VPN in the system parameters, and I only found the button that passes Hotspot connection share throught the system VPN. But I don’t find the main VPN settings. Is it because we don’t need any VPN with the iodéOS design?

Thanks, maybe I just need to understand or find the VPN set up parameters…

EDIT: sorry, I use a French language interface, I realised VPN is RPV in French.

Make it clear what a VPN stands for.
With public VPN you can improve your privacy because your public IP address does not appear at the end point.
But that only applies - and real only - if you use a trusted VPN, which, among other things, do not write any log files.

If you want to use your own VPN, for example to your own router, you also need - most of the time - a compatible app mabye Wireguard. (that depends on your router) but here you would use your own public IP …
