Contact Mixup for calls and messages / Mauvais contact

Bonjour,

Depuis ce matin, sans mise à jour (iodé 6.5)
J’ai essayé d’envoyer des messages à un contact n°1 (SMS et MMS) or les messages étaient envoyés à un autre contact n°2

J’ai redémarré le téléphone, j’ai essayé d’envoyer le message en passant par les contacts, en répondant à un message existant, en créant une nouvelle conversation et en renommant les contacts. J’ai vérifié si ce n’était pas une conversation groupée

Et cet après-midi, en voulant répondre au contact n°2 qui recevait les messages, c’est un 3ème contact qui recevait mes messages. Alors que ce matin, quand je répondais au contact n°2, c’est bien lui qui recevait mes messages

Pensant que cela venait de l’application “Message 1.2.1”, j’ai voulu appeler le contact n°2 or c’est le contact n°3 qui a été appelé

Avez-vous une idée car c’est vraiment très gênant ?

Very strange! I think we need to see if anyone else can confirm this. I have known of a similar issue in years’ past but that was with Ubuntu Touch, and that time it was also in combination with my cellular carrier force converting SMS / MMS to RCS behind the scenes, so we disabled RCS and it “fixed” the issue.

C’est de pire en pire cela le fait avec tous mes contacts

Je viens d’avoir une mise à jour Davx⁵, mais cela n’a pas résolu mon problème

Est-ce que les gens de iode vont investiguer sur mon problème ou je suis bon pour changer d’os ?

I have vague memories of something like this happening to me a while ago, but I don’t recall whether it was under IodéOS or LineageOS for microG. I recall that I was able to fix it by clearing Contacts Storage and Phone and Messaging storage, then repopulating them from backed up call logs and messages, and synched contacts.

  1. All my contacts are synched to a NextCloud account using DAVx5. You could also try exporting them to a .vcf file from the Calendar app.
  2. Messages and Call logs exported using SMS Import / Export app
  3. Remove the NextCloud account in DAVx5
  4. Clear storage:
    • Settings Apps | Show all
    • Search for ‘storage’
    • Select ‘Show system’ from the ‘three dots’ menu
    • Open ‘Contacts Storage` then Storage and cache’, and choose ‘Clear storage’
    • Repeat for ‘Phone and Messaging Storage’
    • Maybe repeat also for ‘ContactsKeys Storage’ (I don’t recall whether I did this or not - it was a long time ago :slight_smile: )
  5. Reboot the phone, just for luck :slight_smile:
  6. Repopulate Messages and Call logs from the SMS Import / Export app
  7. Repopulate Contacts by adding the NextCloud account in DAVx5 (or importing the .vcf file you exported from Contacts

Finalement, j’ai changé d’application de SMS et je n’ai plus aucun problème.

(J’avais peur de perdre des messages importants)

Glad that the problem is addressed, could you mark this thread as “solved”?

By the way, what app did you change to? I did see there is a new version of Fossify Messages (1.6.0) that has been released, I don’t know if it would have solved your problem or not.

Full disclosure, I use Quik as my default messaging app :slight_smile:

Au fait, vers quelle application êtes-vous passé ? J’ai vu qu’une nouvelle version de Fossify Messages (1.6.0) avait été publiée, mais je ne sais pas si elle aurait résolu votre problème.

Pour être tout à fait honnête, j’utilise Quik comme application de messagerie par défaut :slight_smile:
