I really wanted to stay on iodeOS because I like the apps selection and ecosystem better. But since nobody could help me here and it was a dealbreaker for me I made the decision to switch to Lineage for microG a few weeks ago.
Location now works fine again.
Another thing that bothered me was no matter what I tried I always got the “You need the official WhatsApp” error. This also works now with APatch and some modules for it.
Also in-app purchases no longer get auto-refunded after a few days (as mentioned in microG In-App purchases Refund Issue where also no fix was provided)
