This concerns the generic app that is used in IodeOS to take pictures.
I haven’t found a way to shut off the sound of the picture shooter. Each time I make a picture, there’s the sound of it. I’d like to disable that sound. I didn’t find the option in the various menus of the OS, and I find it annoying.
Has somebody got a solution ? Shall I’d better change my camera app then ?
I got the app, as the camera app developped by the Iode team from the f-droid store. I just uninstalled and reinstalled it, same result, I m still with the same menu options.
I’m coming back on the trouble I found on my phone. Has someone got an understanding of my problem ? Have I done something wrong with the install of the Iode OS ? Has it already happened ? I don’t believe I installed LineageOS + MicroSG…
Shall I try to reinstall Iode OS ? I just got today the 5.7 update, hoping something would have been fixed, but none in vain.
The shutter sound is forced in Android to comply with law in some countries (MCC 404, 405, 440, 450). The LineageOS Aperture app respects this constraint.
The LineageOS version is the one to use, no need to install the external app. This external app was provided for interested users when the default iodé camera was based on OpenCamera.
Ok. I’ll look through the documentation of this app “Automation” from the f-droid store, to see if and how I can shut down the shutter sound with those command lines…
It seems there’d be also a possibility to root the OS (Iode OS with Magisk), so as to set the shutter off.
So I tried to install Aperture from the f-droid store, independantly to the one of the OS, from the preinstalled apps menu, I will get the same menu that is shown on the 4th post of this topic.
Ok cat pictures convinced me. You can find here a new version of Aperture, with forced shutter sounds disabled: fdroid/repo/Aperture-30.apk · master · fdroid / fdroid · GitLab
You can install it through f-droid too. And you can uninstall the actual camera in the preinstalled apps settings.
