Breezy Weather providing a deluge

For the last week or so I’m getting constant update failure notifications for Breezy Weather, and yet if I open it the info is generally all up to date. I looked at the details of the last failure and it was something regarding the pollen count source.

The notifications are so frequent they’re becoming very irritating. Practically every time I unlock the phone the next one drops down, and because I run KDE Connect I get the notifications popping up on my desktop too. Problem is, I can’t seem to do anything more about them.

Under Breezy Weather’s Settings > Notifications, the only one checked is severe weather updates. If I go into the main Android settings > Notifications > App notifications, under Breezy Weather all the items are greyed out but in the ‘On’ state and cannot be changed. Background services is set to On, but if I tap on it I see it’s set to Silent. Nevertheless, the overriding On/Off icon is greyed out so I can’t turn it off. How do I stop this downpour?

For your location, click the pencil next to the city name, and then select Weather sources. Are you able to select a different provider for Pollen that is not throwing errors?

Interesting. I didn’t know you could configure the sources for individual weather elements. I’ve changed the pollen source from Météo France to Atmo. So far so good, but I’ll need to observe over the next hours if it continues without fault.

I’d still like to now why Breezy Weather’s notifications are all greyed out and cannot be changed in the main Android notifications.

Good question, I am not sure.

Well, waking up this morning I’ve had no new failure notifications overnight so it seems to have done the trick, thanks.
