Brax3 phone logged out of [lifetime] Premium account

I posted about this issue in Brax3 community several weeks ago, have received tech support suggestions, including IMEI verfication (successful) and updating to the latest version of iodé. Unfortunately nothing has resolved it. Please advise. Thank you.

Please confirm if under “System Settings > Passwords, Passkeys & Accounts” if an iodé account shows there.

If the account doesn’t show there, please let us know. As a workaround, try to click “+” to add one and select iodé. With brax, you don’t have an individual username and password. So when the prompt for that comes, just cancel. The iodé “Free Account” should still be created.

If that doesn’t solve the issue, please also confirm what version of iodéOS you are on. And also just to make sure, can you long-press the iodé app > App Info and confirm at the bottom what version of the iodé app shows? It should now be 3.1.7.

  1. No account for iodé shows up in “system settings>passwords, passkeys & accounts. After clicking “+” and selecting iodé, and clicking on “cancel” nothing displays, i.e. no “iodé” account, free or otherwise.
  2. A long press on App info does nothing, neither does a short press. I can confirm that the version is 3.1.7

I do appreciate your efforts to help resolve this issue. Hopefully this will be worked out soon, and others with the same problem will get it sorted out as well.

Can you comment more on this? Was this from the Brax team or other? Don’t post your IMEI here, but if you want to direct message it to me then I can pass it to our developers to check. Or maybe this is what you already have done?

Yes, with Brax team, I have confirmed that IMEI matches exactly the original of Brax3. In addition, other users have confirmed the same, and continue to have either “iodé free account” listed, or as in my case no account listed under passwords/passkeys/accounts. Just to provide as much info as I can about my device; it is a Brax3 first generation/version, i.e. amongst the first batch delivered to market.

How do you even tell if the premium is active? Mine has a free Iode account in the accounts page but in the Iode app there’s still an option to log into a premium account in the settings and I don’t see where it says it’s active or anything anywhere.

This is as expected: if you can change an app to “reinforced” in the iodé app then you are “premium”.

Vincent is working on an adjusted way to detect Brax devices (not strictly on IMEI) that may better detect and then unlock premium on those devices.

Ah, OK. That does work. It’s just a bit confusing because nowhere in the UI does it say it’s active or anything.

The Brax being enabled at the device level is a bit of a “one off” that is a bit out of the design of the interface, that was originally for individual user account subscriptions (and still is except for the Brax and a few other partner devices). So you are right it is a bit confusing: there are eventual plans to re-design parts of the iodé app interface and addressing this scenario would be a piece of that redesign.

Same story here with the Brax3 phone. System says it needs credentials for the premium version…

If I can select individual apps and determine the level of blocking myself that means it’s the premium version?

I hope the next update fixes this as Brax support doesn’t seem to have a clue…

Without premium you can enable “standard” or “null” (disable) blocking. But enabling “reinforced” requires premium. In addition, adding a custom exception would require premium.

There is an update that will come with 7.8 that will adjust how a Brax3 is detected (and thus unlocked for lifetime premium), but the login option in the iodé app will remain (and Brax3 users do not have a login) so that remains a bit unintuitive. Again if you can “reinforce” blocking or add a custom rule then your device is working correctly with iodé premium.

Thanks rik, best response immaginable!

Given that 7.8 was released Aug 21, does that mean the fix is already contained in the update, or is that an additional modification still being worked on? Thanks.

The 7.8 you mention is only a beta, I am not certain if the patch was included there or not.

Thanks. I thought I’d ask just in case. I’ll wait until it’s out of beta.
