Booting a TWRP recovery

I would like to boot into TWRP since it has so many more features than the LineageOS recovery that iode’ 2.2 is using. I’m using a Sony Xperia XZ3. Is this possible?

Marty

Have you ever searched for an official or unofficial TWRP for your device/model?
If it is available, then you can it install the same way then the original LOS recovery.

But first you have tio search for it. I am to lazy to do it for you

You can find available TWRP releases for Sony devices here: TWRP - Sony. I am afraid, however, the XZ3 is not listed there. Furthermore, you should be aware, that once TWRP is installed, it cannot read an encrypted data partition. So, you will not be able to create backups of this partition with TWRP.

You may try this one: [RECOVERY][Android 10/11][Stock/SODP][XZ2/C/P/3] TWRP [UNofficial] | XDA Forums
About encrypted data partition: twrp generally decrypts it well, except at least for some samsung devices (e.g. S9/S10 series).
