Hallo, every let´s say 8 weeks or something like that Whatsapp in Shelter refuses to download or send audios and videos. There comes than an note: Not enough memory store, please sign your hard memory as extern memory " or something like that. Actually I don´t remember the exact text at the moment, but hopefully someone recognizes what I mean? After some times of newstart it works finally, but that can take some time. What could bee the reason for that?
Thanks!!!
Edit: Textmessages are no problem and there is no difference between wlan and mobile data
This sounds like your phone’s RAM is possibly saturated (and thus why a reboot helps), but I have not seen that message before.
Others may give a better “app” solution to run some sort of “TOP” on your phone to show instant readout of memory usage (the built in tools will show you average memory usage over the past ?? hours, but I don’t think as easy to assess current usage).
Or if you are comfortable with adb shell you can connect to the phone via a terminal and then run top to see what the offending app (or apps) are.
Thank you!
I can only see the normal memory, it says: Device 45 GB to 128 GB occupied Samsung SD card: 31 of 31 GB occupied. Does the SD card play a role here? How can I access them? Sometimes it seems as if a reboot solves the problem, but sometimes it needs 3 Reboots, so I am not sure if that is the fact…
(Maybe it has to do with the problem in my other thread, but both occur independently of each other. The Whatsapp thing has happened from time to time in recent weeks and disappeared always after some time again. The telegramproblem is new and consistent.)
I am linking to this (the telegram part), as it seems to me to be closely related.
Have you checked your Long Press > App info > Permissions to make sure the apps have “Sound and Video” access, etc?
Sorry for not reacting so long. I was in holiday and I don´t know why, but I dont get an information on my primary emailadress when i have a message here, but thats another problem. ![]()
I checked the permissions: video, audio and pictures are permitted. That what I can see is, that in telegramm is written directly under the name of the group “connecting…” and that doesn´t change. So it seems there is a connectingproblem.
I don´t know how, but meanwhile it works. So thank you all for your input!
Even though we didn’t get this properly sorted, could you mark as solved?
