Just wondering if buying a pre-installed phone from Iode will avoid this message. It would be the biggest incentive to buy one. If they also display the message, then just getting a supported phone and installer is just as well.
Short answer: for mainstream phone manufacturers - no.
Long answer: The phone will show this message always if it loads an OS that is not the same as the stock OS (avb yellow - locked bootloader with unknown avb key). I know one phone manufacturer that adds the avb keys of custom OS, which is shift - I know for sure they do this for CalyxOS, which results in avb green state (locked bootloader with known avb key - no warning), but I’m not sure if they do the same thing with iodé.

I consider the boot message that I am installing a “different operating system” on Pixels to be a badge of honor ![]()
