Android Auto Does Not Install as Advertised

Thank you for bringing the Android Auto to IodeOS however I am left with the feeling (again), the installation steps are not accurately stated. The blog post says:

“Just plug in your phone or connect wirelessly to access maps, messages, music, and calls — all from your car’s dashboard.”

After activating the “stub app” from the preinstalled apps menu and updating Android Auto from Aurora thereafter (as indicated in the v6.6 release notes) Android Auto asked for additional apps to be installed during set up ( namely Google Maps, Google App, TTS) this is a deal breaker for me and presumably many others using IodeOS. The requirement to install further Google Apps should have been clearly indicated.

There are stubs available for a couple of the required apps

Ban the apps in the settings, network access in general and permanently.

Use stubs as posted, they have no permissions. Ban android auto using iode and permissions as long as you are using USB. Works for me but its obviously not ideal for privacy having android auto at all
