Android Auto dead on OP9Pro running Iodé 6.1?

Hey everyone. Is Android Auto no longer functioning on Iodé 6.1? It was working in Iodé 5 but no longer. If there is a workaround, please let me know, as it seems this problem is not exclusive to OnePlus 9 Pro users. I tried reinstalling all the essential files and apps to get it to work as well, but get the “red screen” warning…thanks!

I will be testing Android Auto in the coming few days (I need to steal a friends car for a bit to try it). I have read posts that under Lineage 22.1 / A15 there are issues so it may not be specific to iodé but still it is a challenge we would face. I’ll try to re-track down those issues to report here if I confirm it isn’t working.

I haven’t been able to borrow my friend’s car yet. Hopefully in the coming week. I have one Pixel 3a XL with iodéOS v6.1 and a second one with iodéOS v.5.9 ready for testing.

Hi @rik, have you been able to test this? To my knowledge, this is still an issue, but it seems to be fixed in Release MindTheGapps-15.0.0-arm64-20250214_082511 · MindTheGapps/15.0.0-arm64 · GitHub, or it seems that way according to Android Auto crashes on startup (#26) · Issues · MindTheGapps / vendor_gapps · GitLab

I did get to test with another vehicle and sadly confirmed that rooting was necessary to get AA working in iodé 6.x

I didn’t get to check your mindthegapps reference yet maybe there is progress.

Thanks @rik

Does iodé come with mindthegapps or an equivalent? Would flashing mindthegapps raise any issues with an iodé install as far as you are aware?

Thanks and best regards

no, and you cannot install GAPPS

I don’t use Android Auto, but I know there’s an app in the Aurora store that’s called AutoLink. Maybe this can help?
