So an app like AdAway isn’t really necessary, right?

Does it core-wise using the same filterlists like AdAway uses or how can I check?

iodéOS relies on an open source collaborative database to maintain its blocklist up-to-date (see datatable below).

I can say that I’m really happy with the filtering and ad-blocking provided by iodéOS.
A system-wide adblocker such as AdAway is definitely not needed, but I’m still running uBlock Origin as a browser extension
