Unofficial builds for Sony devices that are supported (officially or unofficially) by LineageOS, bit not supported officially by IodéOS.

See this page in the [LineageOS for microG wiki](https://github.com/lineageos4microg/l4m-wiki/wiki/Unoffical-builds-of-Iod%C3%A9OS) for more details.

All build `.zip` files, and related `.img` and `sha256sum` files are available in device-specific sub-directories [of the download server](https://iode.lineage.microg.org)

Devices that are not officially supported by either LineageOS or IodéOS

**Iode5 / Android 14 / LOS 21.0** latest build 5.22

Note that `poplar` _ **is** _ officially supported bu IodéOS, but only at version 4. I have no idea whether the unofficial 5.1 build can be dirty flashed over the official v4 build or whether a format / factory rest is required. Feedback welcome!

For these devices

- use the device-specific build of TWRP recovery from the [‘yoshino Files’ sourceforge project](https://sourceforge.net/projects/yoshino/files/) (linked in the table)
- installation instructions can be found in the XDA Forum thread for the unofficial LineageOS build for the device

These builds have had little or now testing (apart from the `xz2c` build which has been `dirty flashed` on my own ‘daily driver’ device)

OTA updates are not available. These and future updates must be installed manually

There are problems - maybe intermittent - with WiFi on akari, akatsuki, aurora and xz2c so I have removed the 5.10 builds for these devices from the download server. I recommend sticking with 5.9 until we can get to the bottom of this. I have uploaded some log files for the team to look at, but interpreting them is above my pay grade 🙂

Similar problems are known and reproducible in v6 builds for these devices (which share a common hardware platform) which is why I was making v5 builds for them.

Thank you petefoth. I’ve read this info just before wanting to download… so perfect timing.
I’ll wait for the v6… issue might be corrected for both variants…

Hello @petefoth,

will iodéos be officially supported for other Sony devices in the near future or is it not yet being planned?

I am still a DivestOS user and are looking for an alternative because of the end of the project and the closest alternative to this is iodéos, which I know from the Kuketz Blog from Germany.

Unfortunately, iodéos is not yet officially supported for the Sony Experia XZ2C from iodé.

Since I use the Manjaro Linux on the PC, I can unfortunately not use the automatic iodé installer and would have to do it if then, for which I still lack good instructions that I can also implement easily and easily.

Where can I find the unofficial version of iodéos for the Sony Experia XZ2C as a zip file for download (please without microg) so that I can also install it manually via the Android ADB tools etc. in the terminal?

> [@petefoth](#):

> `<link removed>`

Because there are no files here.

If you can also publish the automatic Iodéos Installer as an Appimage for a wide variety of Linux Distros, so that you can use it, for example, under Manjaro Linux?

I look forward to a positive answer.

Many greetings from Germany 🙂

Eleazar

Not that I know of. From what I know, the Iodé team don’t really have the time or resources to support many more official devices. I plan to continue making and releasing unofficial builds for all the Sony devices which have official LineageOS support (and some which have only unofficial support) for the foreseeable future. I believe the @rik plans something similar for Google Pixel devices (see [this post](https://community.iode.tech/t/unofficial-builds-for-google-pixel-devices/5233/15)). We are also working on making it possible for these buids to be updated OTA, but that work is not yet done, and we don’t have an ETA

Thanks for pointing that out: when I removed the buggy Iodé 6 builds for this device (and for `aurora`, `akari` & `akatsuki` ir accidentally removed the Iodé 5 builds also. I have restored the Iodé 5 builds

Sorry, that’s not something that is on my ‘To Do’ list, and it’s not something I have the skills to do. Comprehensive installation instructions for these devices are available from their official LineageOS wiki pages (e.g. [here. for `xz2c`](https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/xz2c/install)). Just use the `.zip` and `.img` files from our download server rather than the LOS ones. You can always get support in these forums f you run into any problems with installation.

Why do you can’t use it in Arch?
It’s just a binary

If the iode installer won’t run on Manjaro just install virtualbox on to your existing distro then install a Debian based distro on to your virtualbox. I only offer Debian as a solution purely because I can say it works from personal experience, but there are most likely several other distro’s that will also be compatible. Setting up and running the installer on Debian doesn’t even require the user to open up a terminal. At least I don’t remember having to do so.

Yes it’s different. On my setup WiFi connects to the wireless network, but but fails to get an ip address. Logcat at [Iode get ip address failure - Pastebin.com](https://pastebin.com/X0tPdifb) It appears to be a problem related to IPv6.

If you would like to try it out, the build is available at [https://iode.lineage.microg.org](https://iode.lineage.microg.org) .I would be good to new whether the problem is just with my device and setup. @vince31fr can’t reproduce the issue with official builds for devices using the `tama` platform

Hi Petefoth
I don’t own a xz2c so cannot test it. I own 4 XZ2 premium (yes… 4… I gotta stop buying them), one XZ2 and one XZ3; the XZ3 has some problems so it might not be the best platform for testing.

If I can make an Iodé 6 build for XZ2 Premium `aurora`, would you be able to test it? Testing won’t take long - just enable WiFi and try to connect to a wireless network.

EDIT: I won’t be able to make a build until the next Iodé 6 official release: upstream LOS and the `v6.10` and `v6-staging` Iodé code wont compile without some changes . But it would be very helpful if you could test it when I can build it.

Thanks

This looks like the same problem with XA2 `pioneer`

Okay, thanks for this information, but I don’t have a Google Pixel and I wouldn’t want to buy myself either.

Okay, that would be good and an advantage if the builds (via the updater in iodéOS) could be updated so that you don’t have to do it every time, which I don’t want.

What do you think, how long this will take and will there be ETA in the near future?

I enjoyed doing that.

Okay, that’s not bad, because this can happen.

Okay, thank you.

Okay, no problem and not bad either. It has already been done. The iodéos installer works for me under Manjaro Linux, which I have not tried before and I thought beforehand that it would not work because I didn’t know until then and had learned something new.

Okay, thanks for the information in this regard and I have already gained some experience with it when I initially flashed LineageOS and later DivestOS on my cell phone and therefore there should be no problems if I will follow this instructions from LineageOS.

Okay, thanks for the offer because of the help for it.

It works for me under Manjaro Linux.

I hadn’t tried it before and honestly did not know that here would go here under Manjaro Linux. As a result, I learned something new again.

It is like a portable program under Windows or a tool that does not require installation.

It means we want to provide Over The Air (OTA) updates, using the LineageOS for microG download and update server and infrastucture, for the unofficial builds of IodéOS that we (i.e. me and @rik , the maintainers of LineageOS for microG) make. Currently that means for the Sony and Google PIxel devices, that are officially supported by LineageOS for microG, but not officially supported by IodéOS.

2. When we will find time to work on it.

We work on LineageOS for microG and IodéOS stuff, unpaid, in our free time, when it fits in with the other demands on our time. The OTA feature is on our To Do list, and we are looking at it when we have the time. So, sorry, but no ETA for the OTA feature, and no plans to provide an ETA. It will be done when it is done.

That is good news. No hurry.. take your time.
@Petefoth is it possible for you to investigate why Local updates are not working for Sony builds, yet they seem to work for Pixel devices? Maybe they are working for other Sonys but for XZ2 premium they are not working.
This is not very important but it would be nice to be able to use local update and keep the phone on-line while the data is copied on the other slot (?!) as opposed to do that from the recovery.
Thank you again for your hard work!
