A question regarding the battery of the 4a: it was nerfed by Google to prevent overheating. When installing iodeOS, official version or not, will the battery still be throttled? And if not, is the chance of overheating an issue again?
No, my understanding is that the throttling is not part of LineageOS (and thus iodéOS) builds.
Well, it is whatever it was before the capacity restriction implemented by Google. But there is also a speculation from certain parts of the internet that this battery throttling wasn’t as much about overheating safety as it was about Google encouraging people to buy new devices ![]()
But if a device already got that “battery-firmware-update”, would that be undone when flashing Iode?
I never owned a Pixel device, but I would make an educated guess: After flashing iodéOS, there is much less activity (reporting back home) on the debloated device so that the battery will not have the same load as with stock ROM ![]()
Yeah, thats nice. But its another thing… ![]()
Its me again, with another issue with the official build. I still dont know where to place those as there doesnt seem to be a thread for it. Is it?
If it is the official build and it is a new issue, please create a new post under the “Apps & Core settings” category. I adjusted this thread’s category to be under the “GSI & Community Builds” category.
