I just ran the installer on a OnePlus 13 and it seemed to complete normally other than not relocking the bootloader. But on attempting to boot afterwards, it just loops endlessly to the initial splash screen. I can still access Fastboot and Recovery modes or power down with the side button. How may I salvage this situation?

If anything went silently wrong during flashing, you may be lucky with just repeating the procedure.
If the actual ROM has an issue with yor hardware, try a previous one.

I would try to do a “Factory Reset” in Recovery, maybe some cache or `userdata` reset is needed?

Just did factory reset and tried to rerun the installer. The reset procedure threw the error “cannot mount /metadata” before concluding. Then tried to rerun the installer. The device (Oneplus 13/dodge) was correctly recognized. Since the requisite files were already downloaded, hash checked, and unpacked, it speedran this process and concluded with a message of system correctly installed. The net result: no change. Still sticks in the same boot loop.

What is meant by “previous one?” The installer does not allow any manual choice of OS image. Or is it implied that this must be done manually (via TWRP, adb, etc.?) I am very rusty on the technique of that. Does another image for this device even exist?

Sanity check but did you try to boot after the factory reset?

What I was suggesting is after install when it fails to boot, then factory reset, then see if boots. Possibly something during install gets something out of sync and factory reset clears it up (so maybe if you then installed again then once again factory reset needed to see if it boots?)

OK, tried that. No luck.

Given that I appeared to do nothing wrong and things still did not end well, would it be appropriate to remove the Oneplus 13 from the list of supported devices?

EDIT: Never mind. I did a manual installation (using the shell script provided) and now it boots! I still do not know what went awry with the installer program, but I guess I no longer need worry about that.

Glad you got the install done. Thanks for reporting back, I think we just keep an eye for others that may face a similar issue. Can you clarify your OS that the failures happened on? (Windows maybe?)

The installer was running on Solus Linux. I subsequently had a similar issue installing on another phone, an older Oneplus 9. Again the installer failed to finish, just performing a factory reset to the stock OS and seeming to give up. Again, I had to finish with the shell script.

I just observed the problem myself with a OnePlus 9 (from Ubuntu 24.04) and sent the log to our lead developer (and for me too the manual `flash-all.sh` succeeded without issue).
