Since last iodé update problems with pre-installed file manager

Hey everyone,

Since the last update (iodéOS C - 4.32), I’ve unfortunately been having an issue with the pre-installed file manager (Files). I can no longer open any files from within it—no matter which ones—and an error message appears in the respective app. That alone wouldn’t be so bad, since I can use a different file manager. However, there are apps that apparently try to access the pre-installed file manager on their own and therefore no longer work properly. For example, my music player still recognizes the MP3s, but can’t play or open them.

Is it possible to set a different file manager as the default? Or to disable the default app? Or to roll back the update?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+

Thanks for your help!

Best regards
Chris

Hmm, here on S10e with iodéOS C - 4.32 cannot confirm this error… have you tried to delete the app cache, maybe the cache partition?

Thanks for your answer @volker01 .

I deleted the app cache several times but the problem still persists.

I did not deleted the cache partition. Do you know how to get to Recovery mode? And will deleting cache partition lead to any data loss?

To delete the cache partition, the easiest way:
Search in the settings:
On/Off Menu - “Advanced Restart”. Activate this.
Then you have the recovery button directly in the restart menu.

Clearing the cache partition on Samsung S10:
Go to Recovery Mode:
– Recovery
– Factory Reset
– Clear Cache

Please note: Only delete the cache partition - nothing else!

This deletes the cache partition, your own data is retained.
Afterwards I would deactivate the extended restart of again.

A hotfix build has just been pushed for all concerned devices running v4.32.

I encountered the same issue since the installation of the last update. After installing the hotfix just now everything works fine again. :+1:

@vince31fr Thanks a lot for fixing so quickly!
