Hi, i am using seedvault to backup my app data. however, for some apps i get the error of ‘backup size exceeded’. I understand that this is by design.
However, according to a github comment, there should be an expert option to ignore this limit.
However, i can’t fint this setting in iode/seedvault. Am i missing something?
How do others backup their phone, esp. apps that are poorly optimized /apps that exceed the app data size limit?
It seems that Seedvault removed the toggle some time back with the devs indicating that it is really not needed (but of course not all agree ) What apps are causing you issues by the way? Is it just browser cache, downloaded maps, etc. that aren’t really essential personal data to backup and restore?
Thanks for the reply.
Most apps that don’t backup properly are indeed maps, etc which i dont care about (don’t backup something that can be re-downloaded). However there are two apps that don’t fully backup (backup quota exceeded) which have a lot of personal information: WeChat and Whatsapp
I think there is no solution with Seedvault.
For WhatsApp I would use for example FolderSync and automatically copy the WhatsApp folder somewhere else.
