I have a Samsung s5e (LTE). Somehow I managed to flash the latest Lineage version, don’t ask me how. I found it terribly complicated compared to my Xperia xa2. Now I’ve seen that there is a version for Samsung s5e (LTE) from iodé.
My question now is, do I have to repeat this complicated flashing process, or can I just call up the existing recovery during an extended restart and then load the file iode-6.10-20251208-gts4lv-ota.zip from the USB stick via Apply Update?
Best regards
Since the build keys will not match, if you do apply from adb sideload from recovery it will give you a warning, but you should be able to proceed. I think that should work for you, but if if you then experience any strangeness you may need to once again revert to stock Samsung then proceed with iodé (but I would try as you suggest first, I think you should be OK )
Pardon @rik, but returning to Samsung Stock Android 11 is not necessary.
The slightly more complex installation process required for a first-time installation (converting .img to .tar) is explained very clearly in the LineageOS Wiki and only seems complicated to a novice.
Since @Bellini has already installed LineageOS Recovery, installing iodéOS 6.10 is very easy:
Thanks for the information, I’ll try it between Christmas and New Year, when I’ll have the time to do it.
Edit: I couldn’t wait and was too impatient again. After several attempts, everything went well and after restarting, I had iodé 6.10 on the s5e.
Then I realized that I hadn’t flashed vbmeta.img. As a beginner, I don’t know whether it makes sense to repeat everything again or whether it’s enough as it is.
Greetings
