As title what instructions to retain esim during/after iode os install on Pixel 9a
eSIM is not part of the OS and is separate. If you go and check the options of the factory settings you’ll see there is one especially for eSIM.
Even on the forum it was discussed before users have written about their experience

Erase esims
This won’t cancel your mobile service plan
To get a replacement
contact your operator
If you want to keep the eSIM then you don’t tick the ‘erase eSIM’ option
