In the past and on other devices when I remov Aurora store from the preinstalled apps and then installed it again via Droidify it does not show up as preinstalled anymore whhich is what I want because then it is not installed in “Android safe mode” also.
On a Pixel 6 Pro running Iode 7 its not like that. aurora store shows up as preinstalled although I removed it and installed it via Droidiy.
Quite a “niche” question, but any idea how to install it that it doesn show up again as preinstalled though it is in fact installed?

What you are doing is attempting to uninstall the app at the system level and then have it be only user-level (which in “safe mode” with your userdata not decrypted would then not be available)? I assume you rebooted after removing Aurora from Preinstalled Apps, before then installing from Droidify?
It is a bit complicated since the “Preinstalled Apps” process is privileged to run at the system level, and maybe there is a hook in there to also in turn give privilege to Aurora (so auto-updates work)? I may need to see if Vincent can comment on this.
I’m a bit curious how that is exactly related… maybe a different post?

I run an app called “Time Limit” for limiting usage times. One way to get around this was to start the device in safe mode and install everything they want there via Aurora Store.
One of the great features from Iode comes in handy here as its possible to remove almost any app!
But then we come to the topic of the preinstalled ones, like Aurora.
In the past (or maybe its more about other devices?) it worked that once Aurora was removed from the preinstalled apps and the downloaded from another source it was only available for the main user. Which is a really great solution to the issue!
Might really be I have an issue with the device now (which is a Pixel 6 Pro, the one I asked some camera questions before ). Time Limit has some other issues here, with some permissions getting turned of by itself. And thats another story…
