When you see obvious spam in the forums:

But there has to be another solution.
It can’t be that the forum users have to deal with all the SPAM.
I can’t imagine that the forum software doesn’t offer anything to stop this crap.

The current amount of SPAM really pisses me off.
It makes you lose interest in the forum. And the operators (iode) (it seems) aren’t doing anything. More than annoying.
It wouldn’t be so bad if the spam-flagging time limit were just removed or lengthened dramatically. There are so many spam posts that we quickly reach the flag limit.
There are some options, and I imagine the team implements at least some of them.

I agree spamming is annoying, we are blocking IPs multiple times a day, and it doesn’t seem to be stopping.
I’ve increased the spam-flagging limit per day again but this isn’t a viable solution. I consider adding Akismet Anti Spam Plugin what do you think?
I’m not qualified to say if Akismet is privacy-friendly or not.

Ironically, I’m sure it’s a waste of time for the spammer as well. Who in their right mind would do business with them?
