i recently bought a used Pixel 9 pro wich is already on a17 with latest security patches from 5.August 26. I dont See the vendor patchlevel
Kernel Version is from Jan 28 2026
Can i just flash the last a16 Version

And then install iodeos 7.8 right away?

Yes that is what you want to do, you could do the revert to A16 via the “Flash” link from a Chromium based browser directly using the latest A16 build. In fact I just did this for a brand new Pixel 9 Pro last week for an OpenMobile customer

Worked like charme, within 30 minutes the pixel was on iodeos 7.8.
My tiny Family is now ‘degoogled’..
