Pixel 4a: bootloader relocked, but one app continues to insist it's unlocked

After successfully installing iodé 6.9 and relocking the bootloader on my Pixel 4a, one app continues to state (in German) that I have an “offener bootloader” and won’t let me use it.

Do I perhaps need to disable “OEM unlocking” in the Developer options? Are there any consequences for doing so (e.g., inability to apply future iodé updates, user data wiping, etc.)?

Disabling OEM Unlocking in developer options will enable device protection features. So you will have a good chance on the app working after disabling it.

From the install instructions:

At the end, accept or decline bootloader relocking; if yes, boot, and in developer settings uncheck “OEM unlocking”

That’s what I thought. I did a full backup just to be safe, then disabled OEM Unlocking and rebooted.

Surprisingly, the app still insists I have an unlocked bootloader.

Clean up app storage and cache ??

I tried that, completely reinstalled app as well, no luck. It still claims my bootloader is unlocked.

It appears to be a known problem with this app as there’s a discussion about it over on the GrapheneOS forum.

As I recall, there’s supposed to be an option to “accept the risk” and continue anyway, but I think it’s just down below the bottom boundary of the screen and I have no possibility to scroll down at all. I wonder if there’s any way to “shrink” the app window to reveal more of the message and possible buttons?

Got it, just reduced text and display size to the minimum which revealed the heretofore hidden controls and am now through. What a stupid thing.

Good to hear. Can you please mark “solved”?
