I have installed 7.8 (on BraX3 - still waiting for it to show up on P8P), so will see if that resolves any of the mysterious behaviour with clock, etc…

So for those interested - I think I might have just had a breakthrough today - I need to investigate more BUT I think the culprit for most of the unannounced alarms I am getting is from the `Developer Options` debugging notifications - despite having this clearly **disabled/turned off**.

So this could be worth anyone with similar issues checking their notifications log (in Notifications \> Notification History).

I’ll post more details and screen shots in the other thread below - as it’s not just the clock but other things like USB connections/charging…

Just to confirm iodé has _nothing_ to do with this. It is AOSP + LineageOS upstream 🙂 So it will take some trudging through the LOS issue tracker / Reddit to see if it can be confirmed / worked around.

It hasn’t FWIW…

Thanks @rik - in my case at least still need to figure out what is the trigger for the odd alerts I’m still getting is (it’s not all `clock` related).

FWIW while I was scratching round in the clock notification settings I accidentally left ON the notification for Upcoming Alarms. So i was confused when just before the morning alarm sounding, my chosen general notification sound played at FULL volume, but my setting for that notification sound is 33% volume. So there’s oddness going on …

Yes that’s the issue (or at least one of them) I’m definitely getting - these unknown alarms or notifications often come through with audio alert at maximum volume - so either bypass volume control or max it out - _AND_ there’s no way to stop them when they happen because there’s no visible alert to tap or such… (and it happens to my ring volume occasionally for calls too).

EDIT: FWIW I just had a similar experience with a pair of SMS messages - details in other thread, but very very much the same:

> [@Notification Issues & incl. Developer Options Ones since 7.7 Update](https://community.iode.tech/t/notification-issues-incl-developer-options-ones-since-7-7-update/8728/20):

> Back on the original issue of the extra notifications and random max-volume of some alerts I’ve just had twin SMS messages arrive; I got 2 generic notification audio (pre-)alerts, (again at maximum volume), then got the 2 actual SMS alerts with the custom notification sound (at the normal volume) for that sender. I also caught the first 2 alerts message actually appearing on the lock screen briefly (but couldn’t see the unique app name or icon, just some white text on black background, with some…

Also - I’ve noted I found couple of apps (e.g. ioDroid) that have what appear to be new or additional notifications now that they may not have had back pre-7.7 (i.e. F-Droid vs. what ioDroid now has)?
