First, I want to say how much I enjoy using iodéOS. The interface feels incredibly clean, and the system generally runs very fast, which is exactly what I was looking for. I really appreciate the work the team puts into this project.

However, over the last two months of daily use, I have noticed several recurring issues that have become more apparent as I upgraded from version 7.1 to 7.3. I wanted to compile these observations into one report to help the team identify patterns and prioritize fixes. I apologize if this is a long list, but I hope providing this consolidated feedback helps improve the experience for everyone. I tried to structure the issues based on the advice found on your homepage and ordered by priority for daily use.

**High Priority: Critical Stability Issues**

1. **Notification Bar Crash (Started in v7.3)**

2. **General App and System Instability**

**Medium Priority: Functional Limitations**

1. **Camera Resolution Support**

2. **SafetyNet Attestation Failures**

3. **Wi-Fi Connectivity (Worsened in v7.3)**

**Low Priority: Minor Bugs & Feature Requests**

1. **Physical Switch Behavior**

2. **Launcher Display Glitch**

3. **Wi-Fi Calling Setting**

4. **Screen Freeze**

5. **Display Artifacts**

6. **Network Name Visibility**

I am willing to test any fixes or provide further details, so feel free to ask!

Are you using the “stock Trebuchet launcher”? If not, I think there were some threads about custom alternatives (Lawnchair, etc.) causing such instability from the notfications, but also with “recent apps” (your item 2).

With so many issues noted, this thread will become quite difficult to sift through to see what has been addressed and what hasn’t. Let’s see how it goes, but I may suggest splitting this thread into these bits:

Thread 1: Items 1 and 2: Stability / crashes. Leave this here.

Thread 2: edit and create in a new thread: FP6 Camera stuff

Thread 3: SafetyNet, but this is discussed in several threads already, not a FP6 issue per se.

The reset also probably to separate issues as it will be better to identify when a solution is found for each one for future users.

As suggested, I am only keeping the critical stability issues here and moving the other issues to different threads.

I am using the preinstalled Trebuchet launcher, so the issue does not appear to be caused by the alternatives you mentioned. It is also worth mentioning that general instability has been present in version 7.1, while crashes when opening the quick settings tile have appeared following the upgrade to version 7.3.

Heyhey,
I recently reported [an issue at the FP6’s LOS github page](https://github.com/ArianK16a/android_device_fairphone_FP6/issues/48) and we found some interesting patterns that make the switch misbehave.

Thank you for pointing this out to me! The issue is persisting in iodé 7.4 for me (actually got worse with the button reacting to minor touches too, causing vibration), but since this seems to be a LineageOS problem I don’t think it makes much sense to keep the discussion here. This thread is supposed to focus on critical stability issues on the FP6 only.

I don’t have this critical issues with my FP6 (iode 7.4). Notification bar and apps are running fine.

In iodé 7.4 those critical issues are still present for me and limit functionality of the os as daily driver.

And as long as you were using the stock FPOS, you didn’t have these problems? If yes, then maybe it’s worth you do a fresh clean install of iode? If the issues are as well with stock ROM, then it could be a hardware issue…
I mean, it’s working absolutly fine for me, and probably many others, because the problems you describe are not reported from others afaik.

Sorry for the delayed response, I didn’t have much time the last months.
I am still experiencing the same issues on the newest version, I am unsure if those issues would have been present on the stock ROM, as I installed iodé right away.
The reason why I thought of this as a general issue was that I didn’t have some of the described problems until updating from 7.1 to 7.3, which makes it seem like the update caused them.
However, since there doesn’t seem to be any other reports of the issue I am open to trying a clean reinstall of iodé if you deem it a reasonable try. What is the easiest way of doing this while retaining my device data (without a google account of course)?

Here’s my standard “tl;dr” (“Too Long; Didn’t Read”) reply on device backup:

> Seedvault is built in (Settings \> System \> Backup), it does really well for backup and restore but there are some apps it doesn’t restore the settings and data for (the apps themselves will be reinstalled). Here is a non-definitive list that I have for apps I use that aren’t able to have their settings and data restored by Seedvault:
>
> - DAVx5
> - Thunderbird
> - Element / Matrix
> - Signal
> - Firefox / iode browser
> - AntennaPod
> - Tailscale
> - Banking Apps
>
> You will note a common theme that they are apps that require OAuth / 2FA login and/or are encrypted. App developers can flag their app as not allowed to backup, which is the case with these. It makes sense these would not be able to be restored as the developers could be considered a security concern.
>
> But (nearly) all of those also sync to online services, or have backup and restore options from within the apps themselves.
>
> Beyond Seedvault, backups from within apps themselves, and of course saving all your personal data such as Photos, Contacts, etc., you can use “SMS Import Export” from F-Droid to backup your SMS / MMS messages (I have had better results with this than the builtin backup / restore of the Messaging app especially for MMS).
